Important dates to remember
May 3, 9am - Noonish - Pre-Palooza Hike!!!
At the Solomon Hills' Newlove Picnic Grounds on Orcutt Hill
This is a special docent-led hike with biologists from the Land Trust of Santa Barbara County, the Natural History Museum of Santa Maria, and Santa Maria Valley Open Space.
The hike is available to anyone registered for the trail run, mountain bike race, general admission or our regular donors and Trail Huggers. If none of these apply to you, you can sign up online at smvos.org, bring exact cash on Saturday, or pay onsite with your phone.
May 6, 5-7:30pm Weedwacking and pruning on the Black Oak Loop, meet at Trailhead at 1591 Black Oak Drive.
May 10, 10am-2pm Trek Trails at Rancho Alegre Second Grand Opening - Not specifically SMVOS related, but you should go checkout the mountain bike specific trails at Rancho Alegre.
May 13, 5-7:30pm Weedwacking and Pruning on Valley View-JKT South. Meet at lower trailhead on Orcutt Hill Road.
May 17, 8am-Noon Mountain Bike Short Track Rehab at Solomon Hills' Newlove Picnic Grounds - Bring your bike!
Meet at the Orcutt Hill Road gate from US101 southbound. The turnoff is unmarked, 1.8 miles south of Clark Avenue. We will meet at the gate and drive up to the work area at the picnic grounds together. We will work on weed wacking, tread work and new features.
May 20, 5-7:30pm Weedwacking and Pruning on Valley View-JKT North and Water Tank. Meet at upper trailhead on Orcutt Hill Road.
May 27, 5-7:30pm Pruning and weedwacking on Scout Trail network. Meet at the bridge in Orcutt Community Park at the south end of Bradley Road. We will work the trails from there.
June 6 - 2pm-Sunset - Mountain Bike Short Track prep. day at Solomon Hills' Newlove Picnic Grounds - Bring your bike!

June 7 - Trailpalooza at the beautiful Solomon Hills' Newlove Picnic Grounds in Orcutt. Hiking, biking, trail running, food trucks, live music, activities for the whole family.
